Being a young professional has its uncertainties from growing your career & income, the volatility of the current economy, and taking the leap from renter to homeowner.
Forbes recently released a study which looked at 99 major U.S. metros to help determine the best places for young professionals to achieve their homeownership goals. The study focused on employment, pay, affordability, lifestyle, and the cost of living. The Midwest had a strong showing, with six metros being ranked in the top 10. Milwaukee ranked highly, taking the number 16th spot.
Key figures that helped Milwaukee gain this recognition were low average rent making, it easier to save for a downpayment, low unemployment rate of 3.1%, endless entertainment options, and low median home price when compared to other metro areas throughout country.
Madison was also mentioned on the list coming in at number 22.
